Canary Islands are now open to tourism.
Posted on by admin
The ‘new normal’ has already begun in Canary Islands. Since Spain entered its new normal on 21 June, you are allowed to move freely around the archipelago and Spanish mainland, and we have everything ready to welcome all the tourists that visit us.
- You can now travel to Spain from any country in the Schengen Area, except Portugal.
- And as of 1 July, borders will gradually reopen in stages to receive tourists from Portugal and other countries.
What do you need to know if you are visiting Canary Islands?
On the plane or at the airport:
- Your temperature might be taken during your trip and you may be asked to complete a questionnaire on the plane.
- At the airport and on the plane, you must use a mask (compulsory) and follow all the safety measures as stated by the airline or the airport authorities.
- If possible, check in online to avoid unnecessary procedures at the airport.
- Take into account that many airlines no longer allow hand luggage in the cabin, except for a small bag for personal use that fits under your seat.
In public spaces on the islands:
- Masks are compulsory for people over six years of age when out in the street, inside public places and on public transport (planes, buses, etc.) wherever the safety distance of 1.5 meters cannot be respected, except if you are doing sport, eating or drinking, and/or if you have a respiratory disease or disability.
Open hotels and cultural activities:
- In the common areas of hotels and tourist accommodation and at shows and cultural activities, there are some minimum safety measures in place (safety distance, no large groups, etc.).
Swimming at the beach:
- You can sunbathe and swim in the sea, respecting a safety distance of at least 2 meters, in groups of up to 15 people at the most. Some beaches have restricted capacity and you must book in advance.
And remember, you must check:
– Your airline protocols – before traveling.
– Your country’s conditions (quarantine, tests, etc.) – when returning from your trip.
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU BACK ENJOYING OUR ISLANDS AGAIN VERY SOON!
